I've done two gigantic loads of laundry. I lost my pocketwatch in the way, when my purse took a header into the snow.  I shoveled the snow in front of my building, travelled to Yonge and Eglinton and bought a laptop for my dad, then came back and shoveled around the area I thought my watch would be, from Nassau & Spadina to the far edge of the ( Read more... )

Awesome biwot brunch. The food and company were delightful. Awesome Take Back The Dyke March. It really felt historic to be marching along Queen and up University to Queen's Park. The crowd was more energetic than I've ever seen. And it felt fun. No police unpleasantness that I witnessed. It left me feeling like I have my country back again ( Read more... )

I'm trying to get myself in shape for Pride, both mentally and physically.  I'm losing body fat but not weight - wtf?  I doubt I'm gaining muscle.   I'm determined to get my hair cut today, although given what I want I'll have to go to some place near work.  I love the places near home, but I can only communicate so much with pantomime.  My chinese ( Read more... )

Farewell party for a coworker last night.  Free beer.  Bad hangover this morning/day/afternoon.  Despite feeling like something stuck to the bottom of a shoe I managed to take in the clothing swap, score some nice duds for fall, do the laundry, review an article for the Journal of Homosexuality, and get kitty litter and food and books in weather ( Read more... )

I ate breakfast yesterday.  That's where it all started to go wrong.  Maybe the tofu was bad, or the hash browns.  But I had cramps all day which culminated in severe sickness that hit suddenly at 7p.m. (while I was at work) and didn't let up until 11 p.m., when I crawled into bed.  On the up side, it may have helped break me of the habit of eating ( Read more... )

My AAR proposal to the Queer Theory and LGBT Studies in Religion consultation has been rejected.  Le Sigh.  That leaves one still to hear back on.  If I don't get picked to present there's no way I can justify paying to go to Atlanta. Beaucoup de sigh.

• I totally vegged yesterday and it was awesome.  mr_pugh  had picked up some snacks, including a chocolate bunny.  I picked up some food and made a great dinner.  Brown rice, cooked to perfection in the rice steamer.  To this I added smoked tofu fried with mushrooms, onions, corn, peas, green beans, carrots and lima beans.  I also added some vegan chicken ( Read more... )
